My sister has been going to a lot of open mic, mostly at the E street cafe in Encinitas. Her and I checked out the Hill Street Coffee House open mic in Oceanside a while back. And my friend Russ played an open mic at the Metaphor Cafe in Escondido a couple of weekends back.
Well we’ve decided to bring open mic to our house (aka e.g. theater).
More details to come, but since Russ is playing a full show at the Metaphor Cafe in Escondido and he said he would be performing at our open mic, I thought there should be some mention of it on my site for him to plug.
So there you go.

If you want to be loved, start loving others who need your love….If you want others to sympathize with you, start showing sympathy to those around you. If you want to be respected, you must learn to be respectful to everyone, both young and old….Whatever you want others to be, first be that yourself; then you will …find others responding in like manner to you.

Because I need their love, sympathy, and respect.
Have I loved them enough, sympathized with them enough, and respected them enough? And even if I haven’t, is it linear? Have I loved those who needed it, sympathized with those needed it, and respected those who needed it? I’m honestly not sure. Is intention the same as action?

Monarch butterfly caterpillars rescued from the herb farm my sister works at taking a well deserved break on their migration in a relaxing mason jar spa filled with milkweed. Watch these amazing creatures as they eat, poop, and socialize.
Seriously though, check out that one guy scarfing down the milkweed and that other one pooping out a log. Pretty cool, huh?
