2005.FALL/WINTER:
WORK
Lot's of it. Little else. Everything else in my life has completely dropped off. The landscaping project is bust at the moment. No nights on the town. No new love. No halloween. No website. No new plays. No new stories. No new comics. No beach. No mountain biking. I did complete the first version of the computer class I've been putting together and taught the first two sections at the last union meeting. I do have time to watch a few movies here and there. I have been saving money and investing. I have let the house devolve back into a mess. I did fall out of contact with DevilRaver. I am going to miss James art opening. I am behind on video production work and web design work. Heck I feel behind in the theater. This is my update for 2005.Fall/Winter. Hopefully a balance can be attained. The ongoing struggle. I made a committment to live a month or so ago. What that means is entirely up to me, but I am committed to actively participating in it. And while I have not made great strides, that committment still burns inside of me. Maintaining a healthy attitude towards work and how it relates to my new investing plans is about as diligent as I have been. Though I think I have my bills and debts under control. Now if I can maintain a productive healthy living and working environment perhaps we can start seeing true forward momentum. Stuff. Rant-lite. I am moving, even if sometimes it is just floating. I will resume contact with the world some time in the coming years. For now, we must continue our earth-tone magic to purge that which we should have never called up. Have a big bottle of expensive water, buy something new, and get back to me in a few years. As usual I don't even know what I am typing, but an update was necessary. Good-bye.
Big Fish in Balboa Park

I am waiting for Becky, who said she would be here over an hour ago, to go to the showing of Big Fish in Balboa Park. So anyway, I am waiting. It is 6:32. It will be dark in about an hour. I wonder what time it starts. I should probably find something better to do than write about waiting for her in my What's New list. See, this is why it was a good thing my blog was turned off by the evil tyrants at [ i ] motion design (no offense scragz, you may be a friend, and that may have been my company, and you may not charge me anything for hosting services, but I still need to complain about the bastard that you are-- It's not my fault that spammers love my blog!). So now it is 6:34 and I am still waiting. Imagine the scene in Back to the Future when the doc is waiting for McFly to show up. Damn. Pacing, looking at clock. Damn. More pacing, more clock checking. Damn, damn! Damn. Oh wait my phone is ringing. It was her.

Interfaith concert

We just did a big country show benefit for the Interfaith group. It went extremely well and we had a good time. No real problems setting up the bands or getting ready, but 15 minutes before the show was supposed to start, an extremely loud and show stopping buzz started coming out of the Left Speaker Cluster. Welcome to live theater. Quite stimulating. We fixed the problem and the show went on without a hitch.
Still working even without shows

The summer has been blessedly slow at the theater. We are usually dark for the most part with a few rentals sprinkled throughout. So I have been busy doing maintenance in the theater getting ready for the next season.

My blog has been turned off by the evil tyrant scragz, the new owner of my former design business. He claims that it was using all the server resources and needed to be shut down. I know that it wasn't using the system resources because I am so popular, so I guess I have yet another reason to love SPAM! Many years ago zoe published a zine called Schema Magazine: An Information Publication for the Mentally Deranged and the Brilliant. For quite a while zoe considered putting these issues online in some digital format. Finally one issue has been put online in pdf format for your archival pleasure. It is not the first issue, in fact it is the
third issue in the second volume. Now that he has a process, hopefully this fun part of history will be fully trotted out for your perusal. Check out

Let the Landscaping begin

Several weeks ago zoe and his sister started a plan to relandscape their otherwise shot out yard. They began notating plants and ideas in a notebook, and made a scale drawing of the property to design with. Today they had two neighborhood kids help really get started. zoe, Tammy, and their new housemate Geniveve (along with the neighborhood boys) began prepping the yard. We are going to post plans and progress on Tammy’s new website,

Vampire Lesbians of Sodom
2005.04.2x:

Three one act plays, including "Vampire Lesbians of Sodom", "Desperate Debbie", and "Breast Men" produced by
Misfit Productions opens at the
Adams Avenue Studio of the Arts. zoe did tech design for this production, and while zoe is never happy with anything, it has turned out okay, if cheesy, which fits the campy comedy of the shows.
VIDEO PROJECT A SUCCESS

zoe finishes 2005/06 Season Preview for the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. It's debut at the Member Preview Evening was a smashing success, receiving rave reviews. Angel Romero wishes to have it translated into Spanish to use in his Mexico facility.

I am always excited about pure theater events.

I left my old dead phone on the charger at work and just noticed, almost a week later, that instead of being dead, it indicated that it was fully charged. Now my phone is working again, after I already bought a new one.

Classics for Kids & Meetings

Classics for Kids is an opportunity for local school children to see they San Diego Symphony play. At the last "Classics" the symphony played with Poncho Sanchez. Not sure about this one yet, as this was posted a day in advance. Immediately following the two afternoon shows we go into a full tech department production meeting and then immediately following that Dave and I go into an Audio Department meeting. I'm tired just thinking about it.

An Asian tradition that predates Cirque Du Soliel. Comments withheld until a proper write up is submitted to the production department. Suffice it to say that on a scale of So Good or NO Good, we've got to go with no good. Which is sad, but when there is no middle ground that is what you get.

The city of Vista was kind enough to lend us comfy folding chairs for the theater. They are ugly and some of them are beat to hell, but they were comfy, padded and all.
Real Rehearsal Begins

We have begun real rehearsals on Christmas of all days. This was really the first day everyone could meet. It wasn't too intensive but the entire cast and crew assembled on Christmas night to resume serious work on the upcoming play.

zoe loses control

zoe hasn't had a good night sleep since Mark told him about the government mind control
program. After going to sleep at 4:00am, zoe woke at 8:00am in incredible pain and mental
anguish. It took him an hour and a
half to get back to sleep. When zoe finally woke up again around 10:30 he was still
disoriented, confused, and exhausted.
Government controls minds

of the world. Using quantum physics and some type of radio biology they lock onto your
personal frequency and suck energy out of you and control your thoughts and emotions.

scragz may have blown one of the new JBL Control 10 Speakers
on the first day of install. With the 400 watt amplifier cranked up, scragz unplugged the connection from
the laptop running the SFX for the play. The loudest crack, snapple, pop boomed from the speakers. More
details to come on this tragic development.
